Pick the guide that fits your role
AlertCheckin works a little differently depending on whether you're managing a team or checking in on the field. Jump to the section that applies to you.
For Managers & Owners
You manage staff, work sites, and shifts — both from the mobile app and the web dashboard.
- See team check-ins: Open the app's home page and tap any site under My Work Sites to view that day's check-in records, with stats for planned, checked-in, pending, and checked-out staff.
- Site info on demand: On a site's records page, tap the icon in the top bar to see the address, GPS coordinates, an Open in Google Maps button, and contact details for the assigned manager and field officer.
- Field flexibility: Managers and owners can check in outside a site's geofence — useful when visiting clients. Field staff are restricted to the geofenced area.
- Stay informed: You'll be notified when a team member misses a check-in or denies camera/location permissions on their phone.
- Web dashboard: For deeper management — staff, work sites, shifts, public holidays, reports — sign in at app.alertcheckin.com.
- Multi-site: If you manage several sites, each appears under My Work Sites; tap to drill into that site's records.
For Field Officers
You oversee a team on a specific site and use the same management tools as a manager for that site.
- Daily oversight: Tap your assigned site under My Work Sites to see who has checked in, who's pending, and who has already checked out.
- Verify presence: Each check-in includes a timestamped selfie and GPS reading — tap a record to view selfies and exact coordinates.
- Contact your team: Use Chat (bottom navigation) to message individual staff or the manager for the site.
- Escalate issues: If staff repeatedly miss check-ins or have denied permissions, the app will flag them — coordinate with your manager to resolve.
For Field Staff
You use AlertCheckin to check in and out of your assigned site each shift.
- Check in: On the home page, tap the large check-in button. Make sure GPS and camera permissions are granted on your phone — you can review them in the permission status tile.
- Take a clear selfie: When prompted, take a well-lit selfie. This verifies you're physically at the site. Avoid covering your face.
- Stay in the geofence: While on duty, remain inside the geofenced area for your site. The app may alert you (and your manager) if you leave the zone.
- Check out: Always check out before leaving the site so your shift duration is recorded correctly. Forgetting to check out can leave shifts open.
- Review your shifts: Tap the History icon at the top of the home screen to see your past check-ins, hours worked, and any notes.
- Need help on the job? Use Chat to message your field officer or manager directly.
Common questions
- Check-in failing? Make sure location services are on, you've granted "Allow always" location and camera permissions to AlertCheckin, and you're inside the site's geofence.
- Selfie not uploading? Confirm you have a working internet connection — the app will retry once you're back online. Avoid clearing app data while uploads are pending.
- Wrong time on records? Times always display in your site's local timezone. If your phone's time is set manually and incorrect, that may affect display.
- Forgot to check out? Contact your manager or field officer — they can help reconcile the shift on the web dashboard.
- Lost or new phone? Sign in with your registered mobile number on the new device. Your account and history follow your number.
